The Local Area
This part of Snowdonia has a wide variety of interesting things to see and do. There are beautiful sandy beaches 30 minutes walk from the Barn where you can spend your time relaxing and swimming in the sea. In the other direction you can head off to walk along ancient Drovers roads or climb some of the many mountains found here in Snowdonia.
There are Welsh and English castles at Harlech, Caernarfon and Criccieth and many Iron and Bronze age hill forts to explore. The area has standing stones and burial chambers built many centuries ago by the early settlers to this area.
The world famous Portmeirion “the Italianate Village” is situated within 30 minutes drive from Bryn Teg; a fascinating place, built between 1925 and 1975 by architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis.
If you are the energetic type there is zip wiring, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking and a surf park.
